Steroids are a group of drugs that increase muscle size, strength and power by mimicking the effects of testosterone. They are available in many forms and can be taken orally or injected, but the best method is to inject it under the skin, using a syringe. The side effects of steroids can be dangerous and are not reversible. In men, excessive use of steroids can cause acne, hair growth (sorry, not the kind that would help a bald man), high cholesterol and testicular atrophy, which in turn can lead to sterility. Women can also experience breast growth, increased voice deepening and enlargement of the clitoris – these are not reversible either.

The cheap cost of steroids in Thailand is a magnet for thousands of bodybuilders from around the world who go there to ‘cycle’ – take combinations of drugs every 48 to 72 hours for up to two months, until they have built enough mass to return home. It’s a practice that has led to the deaths of two Australian bodybuilders, as well as revelations that some professional sports teams like Essendon Bombers in the AFL and Cronulla Sharks in the NRL are allegedly involved in illegally taking steroids.

The illegality of steroids in Thailand is regulated by the Bureau of Drug Control, which is part of the Thai Food and Drug Administration. However, pharmacies are not always strict about adherence to the law and it is possible to obtain a prescription for a cycle of steroids by simply paying a small fee to a pharmacist. Steroids Thailand
